Tolliver 1 Every person has had events in their lives that put bingle across shaped and influenced their culture. end-to-end my life history, there countenance been several events which experience influenced the basic areas of my corporeal, cognitive and social-emotional development. In the cognitive area, school played a major part. And social-emotional development came from friendships and family relationships. Athletic competition was something that I make merryed at a very young age and was very more victuals by my peers and family from early on. Being a son in a society where masculinity is synonymous with variation and competition, it was only natural for me to develop a liking for sports and a olfaction of obligation to be involved in sports. I lived in a predominately African American neighborhood where Basketball and football game were played regularly among youth and famous black victor athletes were glorified. These particular sports were the most played in my neighborhood and were encouraged the most by adults I knew and my friends.
